   acquestum, acquis[=i]tum, for L. acquis[=i]tum, p. p. (used
   substantively) of acquirere to acquire. See {Acquire}.]
   1. Acquisition; the thing gained. [R.] --Bacon.

   2. (Law) Property acquired by purchase, gift, or otherwise
      than by inheritance. --Bouvier.
