Acton \Ac"ton\, n. [OF. aketon, auqueton, F. hoqueton, a quilted
   jacket, fr. Sp. alcoton, algodon, cotton. Cf. {Cotton}.]
   A stuffed jacket worn under the mail, or (later) a jacket
   plated with mail. [Spelled also {hacqueton}.] [Obs.]
