Amido \A*mi"do\, a. [From {Amide}.] (Chem.)
   Containing, or derived from, amidogen.

   {Amido acid}, an acid in which a portion of the nonacid
      hydrogen has been replaced by the amido group. The amido
      acids are both basic and acid.
