   Note: The common drumfish ({Pogonias chromis}) is a large
         species, common south of New Jersey. The southern red
         drum or red horse ({Sci[ae]na ocellata}), and the
         fresh-water drum or croaker ({Aplodionotus grunniens}),
         are related species.
