Audit \Au"dit\, v. t. [imp. & p. p. {Audited}; p. pr. & vb. n.
   {Auditing}.]
   To examine and adjust, as an account or accounts; as, to
   audit the accounts of a treasure, or of parties who have a
   suit depending in court.
