   A bench; a high seat, or seat of distinction or judgment; a
   tribunal or court.

   {In banc}, {In banco} (the ablative of bancus), {In bank}, in
      full court, or with full judicial authority; as, sittings
      in banc (distinguished from sittings at {nisi prius}).
