   Pertaining to, or derived from, the European bay or laurel
   ({Laurus nobilis}).

   {Lauric acid} (Chem.), a white, crystalline substance,
      {C12H24O2}, resembling palmitic acid, and obtained from
      the fruit of the bay tree, and other sources.
