   caro, carnis, flesh: cf. OF. carneux, F. charneux.]
   1. Of or pertaining to flesh; fleshy.

            A distinct carnose muscle.            --Ray.

   2. (Bot.) Of a fleshy consistence; -- applied to succulent
      leaves, stems, etc.
