Parament \Par"a*ment\, n. [Sp. paramento, from parar to prepare,
   L. parare.]
   Ornamental hangings, furniture, etc., as of a state
   apartment; rich and elegant robes worn by men of rank; --
   chiefly in the plural. [Obs.]

         Lords in paraments on their coursers.    --Chaucer.
