Chromid \Chro"mid\, n. [Gr. ? a kind of fish.] (Zo["o]l.)
   One of the {Chromid[ae]}, a family of fresh-water fishes
   abundant in the tropical parts of America and Africa. Some
   are valuable food fishes, as the {bulti} of the Nile.
