Cockle \Coc"kle\, v. t. [imp. & p. p. {Cockled}; p. pr. & vb. n.
   {Cockling}.] [Of uncertian origin.]
   To cause to contract into wrinkles or ridges, as some kinds
   of cloth after a wetting.
