Convoy \Con*voy"\, v. t. [imp. & p. p. {Convoyed}; p. pr. & vb.
   n. {Convoying}.] [F. convoyer, OF. conveier, convoier. See
   {Convey}.]
   To accompany for protection, either by sea or land; to attend
   for protection; to escort; as, a frigate convoys a
   merchantman.
