   (-?-kal), a. [Gr. kosmitiko`s skilled in decorating, fr.
   ko`smos order, ornament: cf. F. cosm['e]tique. See {Cosmos}.]
   Imparting or improving beauty, particularly the beauty of the
   complexion; as, a cosmetical preparation.
