Countermure \Coun"ter*mure`\ (-m?r`), n. [Counter- + mure: cf.
   F. contremur.] (Fort.)
   A wall raised behind another, to supply its place when
   breached or destroyed. [R.] Cf. {Contramure}. --Knolles.
