Sissoo \Sis*soo"\, n. [Hind. s[=i]s?.] (Bot.)
   A leguminous tree ({Dalbergia Sissoo}) of the northern parts
   of India; also, the dark brown compact and durable timber
   obtained from it. It is used in shipbuilding and for gun
   carriages, railway ties, etc.
