Embowel \Em*bow"el\, v. t. [imp. & p. p. {Emboweled}or
   {Embowelled}; p. pr. & vb. n. {Emboweling} or {Embowelling}.]
   1. To disembowel.

            The barbarous practice of emboweling. --Hallam.

            The boar . . . makes his trough In your emboweled
            bosoms.                               --Shak.

   Note: Disembowel is the preferable word in this sense.

   2. To imbed; to hide in the inward parts; to bury.

            Or deep emboweled in the earth entire. --Spenser.
