Expiscate \Ex*pis"cate\, v. t. [L. expiscatus, p. p. of
   expiscari to fish out; ex out+piscari to fish, piscis fish.]
   To fish out; to find out by skill or laborious investigation;
   to search out. ``To expiscate principles.'' [R.] --Nichol.
