Filter \Fil"ter\, v. t. [imp. & p. p. {Filtered}; p. pr. & vb.

   To purify or defecate, as water or other liquid, by causing
   it to pass through a filter.

   {Filtering paper}, or {Filter paper}, a porous unsized paper,
      for filtering.
