Fleet \Fleet\, n. [OE. flete, fleote, AS. fle['o]t ship, fr.
   fle['o]tan to float, swim. See {Fleet}, v. i. and cf.
   {Float}.]
   A number of vessels in company, especially war vessels; also,
   the collective naval force of a country, etc.
