Flota \Flo"ta\, n. [Sp. See {Flotilla}.]
   A fleet; especially, a ?eet of Spanish ships which formerly
   sailed every year from Cadiz to Vera Cruz, in Mexico, to
   transport to Spain the production of Spanish America.
