Fragile \Frag"ile\, a. [L. fragilis, from frangere to break; cf.
   F. fragile. See {Break}, v. t., and cf. {Frail}, a.]
   Easily broken; brittle; frail; delicate; easily destroyed.

         The state of ivy is tough, and not fragile. --Bacon.
