Geanticlinal \Ge`an*ti*cli"nal\, n. [Gr. ? the earth + E.
   anticlinal.] (Geol.)
   An upward bend or flexure of a considerable portion of the
   earth's crust, resulting in the formation of a class of
   mountain elevations called anticlinoria; -- opposed to
   geosynclinal.
