Gelatinate \Ge*lat"i*nate\, v. t. [imp. & p. p. {Gelatinated};
   p. pr. & vb. n. {Gelatinating}.]
   To convert into gelatin, or into a substance resembling
   jelly.

   To be converted into gelatin, or into a substance like jelly.

         Lapis lazuli, if calcined, does not effervesce, but
