Helichrysum \Hel`i*chry"sum\, n. [L., the marigold, fr. Gr. ? a
   kind of plant.] (Bot.)
   A genus of composite plants, with shining, commonly white or
   yellow, or sometimes reddish, radiated involucres, which are
   often called ``everlasting flowers.''
