Isostatic \I`so*stat"ic\, a. [Iso- + static.] (Physics & Geol.)
   Subjected to equal pressure from every side; being in
   hydrostatic equilibrium, as a body submerged in a liquid at
   rest; pertaining to, or characterized by, isostasy.
