Lacunose \Lac"u*nose`\, Lacunous \La*cu"nous\, a. [L. lacunosus
   full of holes or hollows; cf. F. lacuneux. See {Lacuna}.]
   (Biol.)
   Furrowed or pitted; having shallow cavities or lacun[ae]; as,
   a lacunose leaf.
