Liquefacient \Liq`ue*fa"cient\ (l[i^]k`w[-e]*f[=a]"shent), n.
   [L. liquefaciens, p. pr. of liquefacere. See {Liquefy}.]
   1. That which serves to liquefy.

   2. (Med.) An agent, as mercury, iodine, etc., which promotes
      the liquefying processes of the system, and increases the
      secretions.
