Macacus \Ma*ca"cus\, n. [NL., a word of African origin. Cf.
   {Macaco}, {Macaque}.] (Zo["o]l.)
   A genus of monkeys, found in Asia and the East Indies. They
   have short tails and prominent eyebrows.
