Meride \Mer"ide\ (? or ?), n. [Gr. ? a part.] (Biol.)
   A permanent colony of cells or plastids which may remain
   isolated, like Rotifer, or may multiply by gemmation to form
   higher aggregates, termed zoides. --Perrier.
