Nuncupate \Nun"cu*pate\, v. t. [L. nuncupatus, p. p. of
   nuncupare to nuncupate, prob. fr. nomen name + capere to
   take.]
   1. To declare publicly or solemnly; to proclaim formally.

            In whose presence did St. Peter nuncupate it ?

   2. To dedicate by declaration; to inscribe; as, to nuncupate
      a book. [Obs.] --Evelyn.
