Ophelic \O*phel"ic\, a. (Chem.)
   Of, pertaining to, or designating, a substance (called
   ophelic acid) extracted from a plant ({Ophelia}) of the
   Gentian family as a bitter yellowish sirup, used in India as
   a febrifuge and tonic.
