Ottawas \Ot"ta*was\, n. pl.; sing. {Ottawa}. (Ethnol.)
   A tribe of Indians who, when first known, lived on the Ottawa
   River. Most of them subsequently migrated to the southwestern
   shore of Lake Superior.
