Pantagruelism \Pan*tag"ru*el*ism\, n. [From Pantagruel, one of
   the characters of Rabelais.]
   1. The theory or practice of the medical profession; -- used
      in burlesque or ridicule.

   2. An assumption of buffoonery to cover some serious purpose.
