Parfleche \Par*fleche"\, n. [Prob. through Canadian F. fr. Amer.
   Indian.]
   A kind of rawhide consisting of hide, esp. of the buffalo,
   which has been soaked in crude wood-ash lye to remove the
   hairs, and then dried.
