Pasteurism \Pas*teur"ism\, n. [Fr. Pasteur, a French scientist.]
   1. A method of treatment, devised by Pasteur, for preventing
      certain diseases, as hydrophobia, by successive
      inoculations with an attenuated virus of gradually
      increasing strength.

   2. Pasteurization.
