Perforata \Per`fo*ra"ta\ (p[~e]r`f[-o]*r[=a]"t[.a]), n. pl. [NL.

      (a) A division of corals including those that have a
          porous texture, as Porites and Madrepora; -- opposed
          to Aporosa.
      (b) A division of Foraminifera, including those having
          perforated shells.

Aporosa \Ap`o*ro"sa\, n. pl. [NL., fr. Gr. ?. See {Aporia}.]

   A group of corals in which the coral is not porous; --
   opposed to {Perforata}.
