Perkinism \Per"kin*ism\, n. (Med.)
   A remedial treatment, by drawing the pointed extremities of
   two rods, each of a different metal, over the affected part;
   tractoration, -- first employed by Dr. Elisha Perkins of
   Norwich, Conn. See {Metallotherapy}.
