   vb. n. {Pillorying}.] [Cf. F. pilorier.]
   1. To set in, or punish with, the pillory. ``Hungering for
      Puritans to pillory.'' --Macaulay.

   2. Figuratively, to expose to public scorn. --Gladstone.
