Gr. poy`s, podo`s, foot + ? tail.]
Any small leaping thysanurous insect of the genus {Podura}
and related genera; a springtail.
{Podura scale} (Zo["o]l.), one of the minute scales with
which the body of a podura is covered. They are used as
test objects for the microscope.
Podurid \Po*du"rid\, n. (Zo["o]l.)
Any species of {Podura} or allied genera. -- a. Pertaining to
the poduras.
