Rigorism \Rig"or*ism\, n.
   1. Rigidity in principle or practice; strictness; -- opposed
      to {laxity}.

   2. Severity, as of style, or the like. --Jefferson.

   Strictness in ethical principles; -- usually applied to
   ascetic ethics, and opposed to ethical {latitudinarianism}.
