Saurognathous \Sau*rog"na*thous\, a. [Gr. ? a lizard + ? the
   jaw.] (Zo["o]l.)
   Having the bones of the palate arranged as in saurians, the
   vomer consisting of two lateral halves, as in the woodpeckers
   ({Pici}).
