Scapple

Scapple \Scap"ple\ (sk[a^]p"p'l), v. t. [Cf. OF. eskapeler,
   eschapler, to cut, hew, LL. scapellare. Cf. {Scabble}.]
   (a) To work roughly, or shape without finishing, as stone
       before leaving the quarry.
   (b) To dress in any way short of fine tooling or rubbing, as
       stone. --Gwilt.
