Schizophyte \Schiz"o*phyte\, n. [Schizo- + Gr. ? a plant.]
   (Biol.)
   One of a class of vegetable organisms, in the classification
   of Cohn, which includes all of the inferior forms that
   multiply by fission, whether they contain chlorophyll or not.
