Tinto \Tin"to\, n. [Pg., tinged, fr. L. tinctus, p. p. of
   tingere to tinge. See {Tint}, n.]
   A red Madeira wine, wanting the high aroma of the white
   sorts, and, when old, resembling tawny port.
