Toise \Toise\, n. [F., fr. LL. tesa, fr. L. tensus, fem. tensa,
   p. p. of tendere to stretch, extend. See {Tense}, a.]
   An old measure of length in France, containing six French
   feet, or about 6.3946 French feet.
