Trachelidan \Tra*chel"i*dan\, n. [Gr. ? neck.] (Zo["o]l.)
   Any one of a tribe of beetles ({Trachelides}) which have the
   head supported on a pedicel. The oil beetles and the
   Cantharides are examples.
