Transplace \Trans*place"\, v. t. [imp. & p. p. {Transplaced}; p.
   pr. & vb. n. {Transplacing}.] [Pref. trans- + place.]
   To remove across some space; to put in an opposite or another
   place. [R.]

         It [an obelisk] was transplaced . . . from the left
         side of the Vatican into a more eminent place. --Bp.
