Trimethylene \Tri*meth"yl*ene\, n. (Chem.)
   A gaseous hydrocarbon, {C3H6}, isomeric with propylene and
   obtained from it indirectly. It is the base of a series of
   compounds analogous to the aromatic hydrocarbons.
