Tumultuary \Tu*mul"tu*a*ry\, a. [L. tumultuarius: cf. F.
   tumultuaire.]
   1. Attended by, or producing, a tumult; disorderly;
      promiscuous; confused; tumultuous. ``A tumultuary
      conflict.'' --Eikon Basilike.

            A tumultuary attack of the Celtic peasantry.

            Sudden flight or tumultuary skirmish. --De Quincey.

   2. Restless; agitated; unquiet.
