Vadium \Va"di*um\, n. [LL., from L. vas, vadis, bail.] (Law)
   Pledge; security; bail. See {Mortgage}.

   {Vadium vivum} [LL.] (Law), a living pledge, which exists
      where an estate is granted until a debt is paid out of its
      proceeds.
